FATHER'S DAY CRAFT MARATHON WEEK

Fathers are super heroes for their kids.
They are your lil ones role models.
There comes a stage when your kiddo wants his/her father more than the mother. And currently Lakshman is going through that stage(since he was 20 months old), he wants to be with his papa all the time. I am flooded by my childhood memories when i see the deep bonding between L(my son) and N(my hubby). I remember when i was a kid i loved wearing my dads shoes, shirts and ties and pretend that i was going for work. Now L wants to do every single thing his papa does. He wants to drive the car, ride on N's exercise cycle, wear N's crocs. He wont sleep until and unless N too sleeps with him. When N is not at home he goes around the house calling out" papa, papa" and i have to do 100 different things to divert his attention. Until N comes back from work, every single knock or bell is "papa" for L.
To pay an ode to this wonderful father-son/ father-daughter relationship we'll be showcasing 7 Father's day gift that lakshman and i are making .I'll only be able to post the pics after 18th of june coz i am camera less right now...so please bear with me and wait n watch this space for awesome gift ideas which are not just for father's day but can also be made for dad's birthdays.

Are You A Perfect Mom ???

Are you a perfect mom or trying to become one?? Well, I am not. Neither do I wanna be one !!!
Here's why :

  •  Me and Lakshman love making a mess together( and cleaning it too ).
  • We have shouting sessions every other day ! We take turns to shout our lungs out and have a great laugh.
  • We love watching T.V  , especially Chota Bheem and Miniscule.
  • We don't sleep 10 p.m ever!!!! ( I tried putting L to sleep at 8 p.m a few times and he always woke up after an hour or so and later slept at 1 a.m )
  • We like to leave out vegetables on some days and gorge on pizzas and chips.
  • I don't stop L from playing around with water.
  • We can spend hours ( well, not exactly!!!!)  in front of the mirror making all kinds of weird faces.
I am not a perfect mom because I don't wanna be one. All I wanna be is good mom,  a fun mom. I love having fun,  so why should I stop my son. We have loads of fun together and will always have  !!!!

So what kind of mum do you wanna be... PERFECT  OR FUN ?????
Do let me know your comments.

Nutella Crepes With Ice cream

I love eating crepes. And making them is something that never crossed my mind as i always thought that making crepes was a very difficult task. But I was in for a pleasant surprise when I tried my hand making this french dessert.
I have a book on Eggless Desserts by Tarla Dalal , and while I was just flipping through it's pages I saw this recipe with very basic ingredients. As I had all the ingredients at hand I decided to give it a shot, and the result was awesome. I had beautiful crepes sitting on my plate with Nutella slathered on them accompanied by  yummy vanilla ice cream. That sight was heavenly!!!! The best part about  this recipe is that you can make the crepes beforehand and keep in the fridge for later use (don't forget to wrap them in plastic wrap though).

 INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup plain flour
1/2 cup cornflour
3/4 cup milk
2 tsp butter
A pinch of salt

HOW TO MAKE
  1. Mix all the ingredients except butter with 1/2 cup water. Mix very well so that no lumps remain.
  2. Grease a nonstick pan with butter.
  3. Pour 2 Tbsp of the batter , tilt the pan around quickly so that the batter coats the pan evenly.
  4. When the sides start to peel off , turn the crepe around and cook the other side for 30 sec.
  5. Repeat for the remaining batter.
  6. Coat the inner side with generous amount of Nutella. Fold the crepes and serve with ice cream.

Note: You can fill the crepes with any fillings of your choice  such as caramelised apples, bananas or even mangoes. You can serve these as savoury crepes too.
HAPPY COOKING !!!!
