Those Nine Months

Nine months of pregnancy are the most beautiful part of a women's life. They are our path towards a whole new world. They give out lives a whole new dimension.
Pregnancy is a journey in itself. And to keep this journey safe and sound there are a few things one should keep in mind :
  • Choose your gynaecologist wisely. She should be someone to whom you can talk to freely about your problems and fears regarding your pregnancy. She should be caring enough to hear you out. Otherwise it will be a pain for you to carry on with her through out your pregnancy.
  • Eat healthy. Protein is largely responsible for development of the baby in the mothers womb. Thus your diet should be rich in proteins. Include pulses, paneer in your diet. You should also include calcium, carbs and iron in your diet.
  • Cut down on caffeine. Research has shown that caffeine can result in miscarriage or low birth weight.  Many indians cant do without their daily dose of tea and coffee. But during  pregnancy one should steer clear of these.
  • Exercise. Exercising during pregnancy not only helps you get back into shape after delivery , it also strengthens our muscles to ease labor and delivery. But do talk to your doctor before starting on any kind of exercise plan.
  • Prenatal vitamins. Dont skip on prescribed by your doctor. These contain Folic acid, Iron, Calcium, Vitamin B12 among others.
